Q3 2026 Bunker Surcharge & Ocean Freight Rate Adjustment Notice

As we enter Quarter 3 (Q3) 2026, Royal Shipping Lines would like to inform customers of upcoming ocean freight rate adjustments and bunker surcharge increases affecting international shipments departing during July 2026 and beyond.

Why Rates Are Changing

Global ocean carriers have announced increased bunker fuel surcharges due to higher fuel costs resulting from ongoing geopolitical conflict in the Middle East. These market conditions have increased carrier operating costs across multiple international trade lanes.

As a result, carriers are implementing revised freight rates and bunker surcharges for cargo departing during Q3.

Effective Date

Rate adjustments are based on the vessel's departure (sailing) date, not the date a quotation or booking was issued.

If you previously received a shipping quotation but your cargo is scheduled to depart in July 2026 or later, your shipment may be subject to the updated carrier rates and applicable bunker surcharge in effect on the sailing date.

Existing Quotations

While Royal Shipping Lines makes every effort to honor previously quoted pricing whenever possible, ocean freight rates remain subject to carrier tariffs, fuel surcharges, vessel availability, and other operational costs outside our control.

Customers with pending bookings are encouraged to confirm their shipment schedule as early as possible to minimize the impact of carrier rate changes.

Questions?

If you have an existing quotation or would like to verify current pricing for your shipment, please contact the Royal Shipping Lines team. We will be happy to review your booking and provide the most current rates available.

We appreciate your understanding and thank you for choosing Royal Shipping Lines for your international shipping needs.
