1. Age Limit for Imported Vehicles

• Passenger Cars: Generally must be 6 years old or newer to qualify for standard import duties.

• Vehicles older than 6 years are allowed but subject to higher excise taxes based on engine size and age.

• Classic or collector cars (30 years or older) may qualify for special exemptions.

2. Prohibited Vehicle Types

• Right-Hand Drive Vehicles: Prohibited. Only left-hand drive vehicles can be registered for road use.

• Non-Operational or Severely Damaged Vehicles: Restricted unless properly documented and may face higher duties.

⚠️ Note: Georgia applies excise tax based on engine displacement and year of manufacture, so newer and smaller-engine vehicles are significantly cheaper to import.
